Tweety and Sylvester

Dell · 1954–1962 · 34 issues
About the series

From 1954 to 1962, Dell Comics gave fans of the classic Warner Bros. cartoon duo their own ongoing series, Tweety and Sylvester. Spanning 34 issues, the title was a reliable showcase for the eternal chase between the scheming Sylvester Pussycat and the sweet, cagey Tweety Bird, often under the watchful eye of Granny. The creative stable was anchored by regular writers Carl Fallberg, Charles Beaumont, and William F. Nolan, with artists Pete Alvarado, Tony Strobl, and Fred Abranz bringing the slapstick to life. A staple of Dell’s Silver Age lineup, the series captured the timeless, gag-driven spirit of the shorts for a new generation of readers.
