About the series
From 1993 to 1996, Acclaim/Valiant revived the classic jungle hero for a new generation in Turok, Dinosaur Hunter, a 48-issue series that blended sci-fi, survival horror, and action. Written primarily by Tim Truman, Mike Baron, and Simon Furman, with art by Rags Morales, Howard Simpson, and Mozart Couto, the book followed Turok and scientist Dr. Regan Howell as they navigated a mysterious, time-lost land teeming with dinosaurs and ancient dangers. This series redefined the character for the 1990s, grounding its prehistoric thrills in a darker, more mature tone that influenced the era's comic landscape.
