Tumbleweeds Revisited

From 1983 onward, Penguin Random House Canada has collected the beloved single-panel newspaper comic Tumbleweeds into a series of books, with this first volume gathering strips by creator Tom K. Ryan. Set in the dusty, deadpan American West, the series follows a cast of eccentric characters—including the hapless sheriff, a scheming Indian chief, and a town full of misfits—through dryly humorous, often surreal frontier gags. Ryan's distinctive, scratchy linework and sharp, understated wit made Tumbleweeds a long-running staple of the comics page, and this series preserves its legacy for new generations.
