ÉtuŋwAŋ : Celui-Qui-Regarde

A single-issue graphic novel from Futuropolis, ÉtuŋwAŋ : Celui-Qui-Regarde (2016–present) reimagines the story of the Lakota leader Sitting Bull through a poetic, introspective lens. The series, associated with writer/artist Jérémie Moreau, focuses on the spiritual and visionary aspects of its subject rather than historical battles. Its significance lies in its innovative, painterly visual style and its attempt to give voice to a Native American perspective from within the European bande dessinée tradition.
