About the series
In the late '80s, Edifumetto unleashed Tropici crudeli, a seven-issue series of painted Italian comics that channeled the lurid, sun-scorched violence of jungle and island adventure. Defined by Alessandro Biffignandi’s lush, cinematic cover paintings, the series trafficked in exotic peril, tribal conflict, and raw survival. It stands as a vivid, unapologetic artifact of Italy's adult-oriented fumetti tradition, where Biffignandi’s trademark photorealistic style gave brutal fantasy a glossy, seductive finish.
