Transformers: The War Within

During Dreamwave Productions' early 2000s run, Transformers: The War Within (2002–2003) took readers back to the dawn of the Cybertronian civil war, before the Autobots and Decepticons ever set foot on Earth. Written by Simon Furman with bold, kinetic art by Don Figueroa, this six-issue miniseries explored the ancient conflict on Cybertron itself, introducing a primal, more brutal era for the iconic robots in disguise. It remains a standout for its focused world-building and for expanding the mythos beyond the familiar Earth-bound stories.
