Totem Extra

From 1978 to 1982, Editorial Nueva Frontera published Totem Extra, a 21-issue Spanish comics magazine that expanded on the universe of its parent publication, Totem. Most frequently written by Alain Dister, the series showcased a striking visual mix, with Moebius and Federico del Barrio among its most prominent artists, alongside occasional photographic features. This periodical mattered as a distinctive, transatlantic anthology that brought European and American comic sensibilities to Spanish readers during a vibrant era of graphic experimentation.
