About the series
A short-lived but historically significant Italian weekly, Topolino (giornale) ran for 36 issues from 1945 to 1946 under the Helicon Italiana imprint. This series marked the immediate post-war return of Disney's Mickey Mouse to Italian newsstands, with the character's name used as the title's banner. While it primarily reprinted American Disney newspaper strips, the series is notable for being the first Italian comic periodical to feature original local material alongside the imported content, helping to re-establish the country's comic industry after World War II.
