Anders Nilsen’s Tongues (2017–present) is a singular, ongoing graphic novel project from the acclaimed cartoonist, published as a series of five issues so far. Nilsen writes and draws this sprawling, myth-infused narrative, which weaves together ancient fables, philosophical dialogues, and starkly beautiful imagery. Known for his spare, poetic style from works like Big Questions, Nilsen here explores the nature of storytelling itself, creating a quiet but profound meditation on language, loss, and the human condition.
