About the series
In 1996, Crusade Comics launched a two-issue miniseries that fused the supernatural world of Tomoe with the artifact-driven action of Witchblade. Written primarily by Christina Z, Gary Cohn, and Marc Patten, with Jamal Igle on pencils, Tomoe-Witchblade: Fire Sermon pits a samurai spirit against a modern-day curse, blending Eastern mysticism with the gritty urban fantasy of the Witchblade mythos. Though brief, this crossover stands as an early example of the shared universe ambitions that defined 1990s independent comics.
