Tivoli

In 2011–2012, Swedish publisher Positiv Förlag released Tivoli, a six-issue comic series that blends whimsical adventure with a touch of melancholy. Created by a team of Nordic talents—including writer and artist Mats Jonsson—the series follows a group of friends who run a struggling traveling carnival, using their unusual skills to navigate both everyday problems and surreal, magical occurrences. Though short-lived, Tivoli stands out for its warm, character-driven storytelling and its unique, atmospheric take on the classic carnival setting, capturing a slice of Scandinavian indie comics at a creative peak.
