Tiger Tim's Tales

From 1919 to 1920, Tiger Tim's Tales brought Amalgamated Press readers a charming, whimsical series of 28 issues centered on the mischievous animal antics of Tiger Tim and his jungle friends. Though a relatively short-lived entry in the British comic landscape, it stands as an early, playful example of the anthropomorphic animal comic strip tradition that would define much of the UK's children's publishing. The series is most associated with its creator, the prolific artist and writer Julius Stafford Baker, whose lively, expressive style gave Tiger Tim a lasting, endearing presence in early 20th-century comics.
