Thunderstrike

In the mid-1990s, Marvel spun off a solo title for Eric Masterson, the hero formerly known as Thunderstrike, following his tenure as a replacement Thor. Written primarily by Ron Frenz and Tom DeFalco, with art by Frenz, Keith Pollard, and Stewart Johnson, the series ran for 24 issues and explored the street-level and mystical adventures of a working-class hero wielding a mystical mace. Alongside allies like Lt. Marcus Stone and the quirky Fireworks Fielstein, Thunderstrike faced threats both superhuman and mundane, carving out a distinct, blue-collar niche in the Marvel universe. It stands as a notable artifact of the era's character-focused storytelling and a showcase for Frenz and DeFalco's long-running creative partnership.
