The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

In 2006, Image Comics launched a lush, graphic-novel adaptation of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, bringing the beloved children's classic to a new generation of readers. Writer David Chauvel and artist Enrique Fernandez crafted a visually rich, faithful retelling of Dorothy's journey through the magical land of Oz, from the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City. Though the series ran for only a single issue, its detailed, painterly artwork and respectful treatment of the source material made it a noteworthy entry in the long history of Oz comics.
