The Spirit

A revival of Will Eisner’s classic detective strip, this four-issue series from Ken Pierce, Inc. brought The Spirit—along with Denny Colt, Dolan, Ebony White, and Ellen Dolan—back to newsstands in the late 1970s. Eisner himself returned to write and draw, joined by veteran talents Bill Woolfolk and Lou Fine, preserving the series’ signature blend of noir atmosphere and expressive cartooning. Though brief, the run stands as a faithful, creator-led homage to one of comics’ most influential characters.
