The Spirit

After decades defining the character in his legendary 1940s newspaper strip, Will Eisner returned to The Spirit in the late 1970s with Kitchen Sink Press, producing 25 issues from 1977 to 1983. This run reunited Eisner with veteran artists Wally Wood and Klaus Nordling, while also bringing in new co-writers cat yronwode and catherine yronwode. The series revived Denny Colt's masked adventures alongside the familiar cast of Commissioner Dolan, Ellen Dolan, Ebony White, and the formidable Hazel P. MacBeth, offering a late-career coda that kept the Spirit's pulp-noir spirit alive for a new generation of readers.
