The Shazam! Archives

About the series
Between 1992 and 2004, DC Comics collected the Golden Age adventures of the original Captain Marvel in The Shazam! Archives, a four-volume hardcover series. Showcasing the work of writer Bill Parker and artist C. C. Beck, along with contributions from Binder Studio and George Tuska, these volumes preserved the whimsical, larger-than-life stories that defined Fawcett Comics' most iconic hero. By reprinting the classic tales in archival format, the series gave new generations a chance to experience the charm and energy of the pre-Superhero Age of comics. It remains an essential bridge between the character's 1940s heyday and his modern DC revival.
