The Shadow
Archie · 1964–1965 · 8 issues
About the series
In the mid-1960s, Archie Comics revived the classic pulp hero The Shadow for an eight-issue series, pairing writers Robert Bernstein and Jerry Siegel with artists John Rosenberger and Paul Reinman. The stories follow Lamont Cranston, the vigilante known as The Shadow, and Commissioner Ralph Weston as they battle crime in a moody, action-packed vein that recalled the character's radio and magazine heyday. This short-lived run stands as a distinctive, often-overlooked chapter in the Shadow's comic book history, showcasing the talents of Superman co-creator Siegel in a darker, urban setting.
