The Powwow Mysteries

Since 2019, Reycraft Books has published The Powwow Mysteries, a three-issue comic series from writer Joseph Bruchac and artist Dale DeForest. Each installment follows a young protagonist attending a different powwow, where they find themselves drawn into a local mystery that connects to Indigenous traditions and community. Bruchac’s storytelling and DeForest’s art bring these contemporary Native American adventures to life, offering readers a window into the cultural richness and resilience at the heart of these gatherings.
