A self-published passion project from Jon Sköglund, The Nomads of Antiquity (1987–present, McNeil Entrepreneurs Inc.) follows a band of wandering mystics through a richly imagined ancient world. Sköglund served as both writer and artist across its five-issue run, crafting a quiet, contemplative fantasy that stands apart from the bombastic superhero comics of its era.
