About the series
In 1997, Dark Horse Comics took the Mask into the digital age with The Mask: Virtual Surreality, a single-issue special by writer Michael Eury and artist Ivan Reis. This one-shot pits the chaotic green menace against the perils of cyberspace, blending the series' signature cartoonish violence with late-90s tech anxiety. While a brief entry in the Mask's long history, it stands as an early showcase for the detailed, dynamic art of a then-up-and-coming Ivan Reis.
