The Mammoth Book of Best New Manga

From 2006 onward, Carroll & Graf published two volumes of The Mammoth Book of Best New Manga, a curated anthology showcasing short-form manga from a diverse range of creators. Most frequently contributed to by writer-artist Michiru Morikawa and writer Sean Michael Wilson, with artist Yishan Li also a key collaborator, the series aimed to introduce English-language readers to contemporary manga talent beyond the biggest mainstream hits. Though brief in its run, it served as a snapshot of the early-2000s manga boom’s global reach and the growing cross-cultural exchange in comics.
