The Lone Ranger

Based on the popular radio show, this 25-issue series from Wilson Publishing ran from 1949 to 1950, bringing the masked lawman to the comics page. Writer Fran Striker, who co-created the character for radio, was joined by Gaylord Du Bois, while artist Charles Flanders defined the visual look of the Old West adventures. It remains a key early adaptation of a then-ubiquitous media phenomenon.
