The Initiates

Étienne Davodeau both writes and draws this NBM graphic novel series, launched in 2013, that follows a pair of unlikely collaborators—a winemaker and a comic artist—as they explore each other’s worlds. With translation by Joe Johnson, the series is a thoughtful, real-world meditation on craft, labor, and the stories behind what we consume.
