The Gunhawk

A short-lived but visually striking Western series from Bell Features, The Gunhawk ran for just four issues between 1950 and 1951. The title is best remembered for the dynamic, cinematic artwork of Joe Maneely, whose energetic pencils brought the frontier adventures to life during the tail end of the Golden Age of comics. Though brief, the series stands as a showcase for Maneely's talent before he became a mainstay at Atlas Comics.
