About the series
In the late 2000s, Viz Media brought over The Gentlemen's Alliance †, a shojo manga series by Arina Tanemura that ran for eleven issues. The story follows Haine Otomiya, a high school student who joins the prestigious Imperial Academy's exclusive "Gentlemen's Alliance" in order to get closer to her childhood friend and unrequited love, the aloof Shizumasa Togu. Tanemura's signature elegant artwork and blend of romance, comedy, and school-life drama made this a standout title for shojo fans of the era.
