The Forbidden Kingdom

From 1987 to 1988, Eastern Comics published The Forbidden Kingdom, an eight-issue miniseries that blended Korean and Western comic sensibilities. Written primarily by Franz Henkel and illustrated by Sung-nam Ha—who also contributed to the writing—the series explored a mysterious, isolated realm through a mix of action and intrigue. Its cross-cultural creative team and short, self-contained run make it a distinctive artifact of late-80s independent comics.
