The Fan Free Funnies

The Fan Free Funnies (1973–present, Commonwealth Times) is a short-lived but spirited three-issue underground comic series that emerged from the counterculture energy of 1970s Richmond, Virginia. Driven by the collaborative talents of F. T. Rea, Gregg Kemp, and Phil Trumbo, who each handled writing and art, it stands as a scrappy, DIY artifact of its era—a small but genuine voice in the alternative press movement.
