The Empty Man

Cullen Bunn and Vanesa R. Del Rey launched The Empty Man in 2014 for Boom! Studios, a six-issue horror series that explores a mysterious, contagious urban legend spreading through a post-apocalyptic Midwest. The story follows a former detective investigating a series of bizarre deaths linked to a strange, skeletal figure, blending psychological terror with supernatural dread. This series stands out for its atmospheric, minimalist art and its slow-burn, unsettling narrative, which later inspired a feature film adaptation.
