The Dalek Book

In 1964, Souvenir Press Ltd released the sole issue of The Dalek Book, a unique hybrid of comic strips and text features that expanded the universe of the BBC’s Doctor Who through the Daleks’ perspective. Written by David Whitaker and illustrated by Richard Jennings, this one-shot pioneered the Dalek mythos beyond television, introducing concepts like the Dalek Emperor and the planet Skaro’s history. As the first original Doctor Who spin-off publication, it set a template for how the series would explore its villains in print.
