The Crypt of Terror

EC's The Crypt of Terror launched in 1950 as a short-lived but foundational horror anthology, lasting only three issues before evolving into the legendary Tales from the Crypt. Written and drawn by the iconic duo of Johnny Craig and Al Feldstein, this series established the publisher's signature blend of twist-ending morality tales and gruesome, atmospheric artwork. Though brief, it introduced the framing device of the Crypt-Keeper and set the grim, ironic tone that would define EC's horror line and influence the genre for decades.
