Harvey Kurtzman’s seminal war-comics anthology Frontline Combat was originally published by EC Comics in the early 1950s, but this 1982–present Russ Cochran series collects those landmark stories into a definitive three-issue set. Featuring the gritty, unglamorous art of John Severin and Alex Toth, the series is a cornerstone of realistic war storytelling in comics, rejecting jingoism for a soldier’s-eye view of conflict. Its reissue by Cochran helped preserve EC’s legacy for a new generation of readers.
