Alejandro Jodorowsky and Milo Manara, two legends of European comics, teamed with writer Katie LaBarbera for this Dark Horse series that launched in 2019. It adapts the infamous Renaissance dynasty into a lush, operatic comic, with Manara’s signature sensuality and Jodorowsky’s baroque storytelling bringing the Borgias’ schemes and scandals to vivid life. Though only a single issue was released, it remains a striking, creator-driven take on one of history’s most notorious families.
