About the series
Gilberton’s five-issue series The Best from Boys’ Life (1957–1958) gathered classic adventure tales from the pages of the Boy Scouts of America’s long-running magazine, reprinting them in comic form for a new generation. Writers and artists Al Stenzel, Percy K. Fitzhugh, and Bill Williams anchored the run, which featured the recurring frontier exploits of Kit Carson. Though brief, the series preserved a distinctly wholesome, outdoorsy brand of Americana for young readers.
