About the series
From 1968 to 1969, DC Comics paired two of its most scientifically-minded heroes in this eight-issue series, teaming the size-changing Atom (Ray Palmer) with the winged Thanagarian Hawkman (Katar Hol). Written primarily by Robert Kanigher, Denny O'Neil, and Gardner Fox, with art by Dick Dillin, Murphy Anderson, and Joe Kubert, the book explored the duo's shared adventures and their personal lives, including the Atom's relationship with Jean Loring. A short-lived but fondly remembered team-up, it captured a transitional era in DC's Silver Age, showcasing the distinct personalities and crime-fighting styles of both characters.
