The Arizona Kid

About the series
In the early 1950s, Marvel (then known as Atlas Comics) published a short-lived six-issue Western series, The Arizona Kid, chronicling the adventures of its masked, gun-slinging hero of the same name. The title is most notable for its art, featuring the early work of Russ Heath, Pete Morisi, and Dave Berg—each of whom would go on to become distinguished illustrators in the decades that followed. Writer Richard Kahn scripted the majority of the series, crafting straightforward tales of frontier justice. Though brief, The Arizona Kid stands as a snapshot of the post-war Western comic boom and a showcase for rising artistic talent at Atlas.
