The Adventures of Blake & Mortimer

Edgar P. Jacobs’ classic Franco-Belgian adventure serial is introduced to English-speaking readers in this two-issue run from Catalan Communications, published in 1989–1990. Scripts by Jacobs, Dwight Decker, and Jean-Jacques Surbeck accompany Jacobs’ own meticulous artwork, bringing the scientific-mystery exploits of the gentleman adventurers to a new audience. While brief, this series marks an important early attempt to present Jacobs’ influential, Tintin-informed style in American comics format.
