Teufelsmaul

In Teufelsmaul, a German-language comic series launched in 1991 by Kunst der Comics and later Alpha, writers Gerd Benz and Jerome Charyn teamed with artist François Boucq to craft a gritty, atmospheric crime thriller. Set in a corrupt, rain-soaked metropolis, the story follows a hard-boiled detective navigating a web of violence and moral decay. Though only a single issue was published, the collaboration of Charyn’s noir storytelling and Boucq’s expressive, shadow-drenched artwork made this a cult standout in European comics.
