About the series
From 1967 to 1974, the Danish publisher Hjemmet (later Egmont) released Tempo album, a 13-issue comic series that collected the high-speed racing adventures of French driver Michel Vaillant. The series was most frequently written and drawn by Jean Graton, with additional art from Fred Funcken, bringing the sleek, kinetic world of Grand Prix competition to Scandinavian readers. As a key vehicle for Graton's celebrated long-running sports strip, Tempo album stands as a distinctive European import that helped popularize the action-driven, meticulously researched racing genre in Nordic comics.
