Template (1995–1997) was a short-lived but distinctive series from Head Press Publishing, known for its inventive, creator-owned approach to the superhero genre. The eight-issue run was most closely associated with writer/artist Tom Lyle, who brought a kinetic, manga-influenced style to the story of a young man who can manipulate reality through a mysterious template. Though it never reached a wide audience, the series stands as a notable example of mid-90s independent comics, showcasing a creator's singular vision and a willingness to experiment with form and narrative.
