Taxi O'Hara Comics

From 1948 to 1949, K. G. Murray published the short-lived Taxi O'Hara Comics, a four-issue series centered on the adventures of a wisecracking, fast-driving cabbie. The title is most closely associated with artist Leonard Starr, whose clean, expressive linework brought the gritty urban tales to life. Though brief, the series stands as a snapshot of post-war Australian comics, showcasing Starr's early talent before his celebrated work on On Stage and Little Annie Rooney.
