About the series
In the late 1940s, Dutch publisher Hoenderopse Algemene Tijdschriften Exploitatie (H.A.T.E.) brought Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle lord to the Netherlands with this 10-issue series. Artist Nico Draak, the sole credited talent, provided the artwork for every installment, shaping a distinctive European take on the iconic character. Though short-lived, the Tarzan-Serie stands as a notable early example of Dutch-licensed comic publishing in the post-war era.
