Tarzan julehefte

From 1947 to 1973, Norway’s Hjemmet (later Egmont) published Tarzan julehefte, a Christmas-themed comic annual that brought Edgar Rice Burroughs’ jungle lord to Scandinavian readers through twenty-seven holiday issues. The series drew on the talents of American adventure-strip veterans, with writers like Dick Van Buren, Don Garden, and Bill Elliott scripting Tarzan’s exploits, while artists John Celardo, Bob Lubbers, and Burne Hogarth rendered the lush, dynamic artwork. As a perennial Yuletide tradition, it offered a distinctive, localized window into Tarzan’s world, blending the character’s classic pulp appeal with a seasonal publishing format that made it a cherished fixture on Norwegian newsstands for over a quarter century.
