In the early 1970s, Williams Publishing offered a short-lived but spirited revival of Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle lord with Tarzan & Co., a 10-issue series that ran from 1971 to 1974. True to its title, the comic expanded the world beyond Tarzan himself, featuring backup tales of other Burroughs creations like the heroic John Carter of Mars. While the series is not widely remembered today, it stands as a distinctive part of the character's publishing history, bridging the gap between the classic newspaper strips and the more famous Marvel run that followed.
