Tarzan (3ª Série)
Editora Brasil-América [EBAL] · 1965–1974 · 52 issues
About the series
In the mid-1960s, Brazil's Editora Brasil-América (EBAL) launched this fifty-two-issue Tarzan series, adapting Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle lord for a Portuguese-speaking audience. Running from 1965 to 1974, the title is most associated with the work of artist and adapter Jayme Cortez, whose dynamic, expressive style defined the look of the series. It stands as a significant chapter in EBAL's ambitious program of bringing classic American adventure comics to Brazilian readers, preserving the spirit of the original newspaper strips while giving Tarzan a distinct local presentation.
