About the series
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the German publisher Lehning brought Edgar Rice Burroughs' Lord of the Jungle to European newsstands in a 62-issue series simply titled Tarzan. This run, drawn primarily by the acclaimed Argentine artist José Luis Salinas, offered a lush, finely detailed take on the character's classic adventures, distinct from the American comic strips of the era.
