Harry Messerschmidt wrote and drew all three issues of Taruk, a short-lived 1973–1974 series from Groth that follows a strongman in a prehistoric world. The strip delivers a raw, muscular brand of adventure, with Messerschmidt’s art emphasizing the primal struggle of its caveman protagonist. Though brief, the series stands as a distinctive solo effort from a creator who handled every aspect of the comic.
