Superdupont

A satirical French superhero series launched in 1984 by the Yendor publishing house, Superdupont lampoons national stereotypes through the adventures of an absurdly patriotic French crimefighter. The series is best known for the work of writer Marcel Gotlib and artist Jacques Lob, who created the character as a parody of American superheroes and French self-image. Though its initial run consisted of only a single issue, the series has continued sporadically over the decades, earning a cult following for its sharp, irreverent humor and its place in the tradition of European comic satire.
