About the series
In the late 1960s, the Yugoslav publisher Vjesnik launched Super strip Biblioteka, a digest-sized series that ran for 203 issues from 1968 to 1975, bringing a mix of adventure, horror, and humor to newsstands. The series is most closely associated with the Italian creative duo of writer Max Bunker and artist Magnus, whose work—including the iconic, satirical crime saga Kriminal and the gothic thriller Satanik—formed the backbone of the run. A vital gateway for European genre comics in the region, Super strip Biblioteka remains a touchstone for its darkly humorous, stylishly illustrated stories that pushed boundaries within the format.
