Super-Sonic the Super Comic

Published by Man's World in the early 1950s, Super-Sonic the Super Comic was a short-lived four-issue series that blended sci-fi adventure with superhero action. The title character, a costumed hero with super-speed and flight, fought bizarre menaces in a Cold War-era world of atomic experiments and alien threats. While the series is obscure, its pulpy, high-concept covers and stories capture a transitional moment in comics, just before the industry's mid-1950s self-censorship reshaped the genre.
